Network type: residential

AS8100 announces 2 IPv4 prefixes covering 16,896 addresses and 1 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

SPLICE-AS-AP is Splice Internet Pty Ltd, a regional ISP selling home and business broadband on the Rural Fibre Co network in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.

What it's used for

• Residential and small-business internet access. Addresses here are subscribers' connections, not servers.
• RIS sees a small footprint: 157.85.128.0/18 and 163.128.244.0/23 on IPv4, plus 2402:58a0::/32 on IPv6, all registered to Splice Internet at APNIC.
• Upstream transit comes from GSL Networks (AS137409) and Hurricane Electric (AS6939), the shape of a regional retail ISP rather than a carrier.

Notable

• Eyeball network, confirmed by reverse DNS. Sampled PTRs resolve to …cgnat.vic.spliceinternet.au. Carrier-grade NAT pools exist to share one public address across many household connections.
• AS8100 changed hands in August 2026. It was QuadraNet's (ASN-QUADRANET-GLOBAL) US hosting network until ARIN transferred the number to APNIC on 2026-08-18. QuadraNet's former prefixes are now announced by other networks, e.g. ColoCrossing (AS36352) and Hivelocity (AS29802). Blocklists built from the old hosting classification will wrongly catch Splice's home users.
