About this network

Elisa Oyj is one of Finland's largest telecom operators, providing fixed and mobile broadband to homes across the country.

What it's used for

• Residential DSL, fibre, and cable home internet for Finnish households, plus a large mobile subscriber base.

Notable

• An "eyeball" network: addresses here are consumer connections (home and mobile), not servers.
• Elisa is a fixed-plus-mobile incumbent and runs its own national backbone.

Interesting

• Elisa competes head-to-head with Telia and DNA as one of the three big Finnish carriers.
