AS12294 — TSYSTEMS Kiev, Ukraine

AS12294 announces 7 IPv4 prefixes covering 7,168 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

A corporate network of Vodafone Ukraine, the country's mobile operator, registered as PrJSC "VF Ukraine".

What it's used for

• Internal and business networking rather than the consumer handset pool. One block is registered separately as TSUA-RESEARCH-NET, and the AS handle reads TSYSTEMS, suggesting the space is run alongside an enterprise IT arrangement rather than as part of the mobile core.

Notable

• Eight prefixes, all slices of the same 212.40.0.0 range, sharing a single netname: UA-UKRAINE-990217, assigned on the 17th of February 1999.
• 7,400 addresses against five observed BGP neighbours. Small and self-contained.
• No IPv6 announced.

Interesting

• The technical contact on every block is UMC NOC. UMC — Ukrainian Mobile Communications — was the country's first mobile operator, founded in 1992, which became MTS Ukraine and then Vodafone Ukraine in 2015. Three company names appear in a single RDAP record: VF UKRAINE as the registrant, UMC as the operations contact, and a 1999 date stamped into the netname of the original assignment.
