AS7672 — FITWEB Hokuden Information System Service Co.,Ltd.

AS7672 announces 21 IPv4 prefixes covering 68,352 addresses and 1 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

FITWEB is Hokuden Information System Service Co., Ltd., based in Toyama City and part of the Hokuriku Electric Power group. It runs FITWeb, a consumer and business internet service for the Hokuriku region of Japan.

What it's used for

• Roughly 68,000 addresses across twenty prefixes, plus 2404:200::/32 in IPv6. JPNIC records the allocations directly to the company, the oldest dating to 2003.
• Reverse DNS lands on fitweb.or.jp: sequentially numbered subscriber pools such as NNN-NNN-NNN-NNN.dwst.fitweb.or.jp, alongside a handful of named servers like tymwsv01.fitweb.or.jp — tym for Toyama.
• Beyond access, the company is the Hokuriku Electric group's IT integrator, and part of the space carries corporate and hosted systems.

Notable

• An eyeball network despite an unpromising corporate name. Hokuden here abbreviates Hokuriku Electric Power, not Hokkaido Electric — an easy misread, since both utilities are commonly shortened the same way in Japanese.
• The group's other network, HTNet (AS7668), is the carrier; FITWeb sits on the IT-services side. They share adjacent address space in 210.166.0.0/19, which is a reliable hint that they are the same corporate family.
