About this network

The campus network of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida, registered with ARIN under the handle FAMU.

What it's used for

• Connectivity for a public university: student and staff access, residence halls, campus Wi-Fi, administrative systems, and the university's public web presence.

Notable

• The AS carries a full legacy /16, 168.223.0.0/16, alongside a couple of more specific /22s. A whole Class B assigned to a single campus is the classic shape of a mid-1990s university allocation.
• Like most US campuses of its size, FAMU reaches the wider internet through its state research and education network rather than by buying transit directly on the open market.

Interesting

• FAMU is one of the largest historically Black colleges and universities in the United States, and the only public one in Florida's state university system.
