About this network

KMD A/S is Denmark's largest IT services company, headquartered in Ballerup. It was founded as Kommunedata, an amalgamation of Danish municipal data-processing centres, and has been owned by NEC since 2019.

What it's used for

• Corporate and service-delivery networking for KMD: the company builds and hosts software and SaaS for Danish central government, municipalities and private-sector customers, and this AS carries that infrastructure plus its own offices.
• The routed footprint mixes a legacy /16 registered directly to KMD with RIPE allocations still bearing the DK-KOMMUNEDATA-… netnames.

Notable

• Enterprise IT-services network, not a public cloud or an ISP. The addresses back KMD's own hosted applications and staff, so it should not be filed as commercial hosting even though a lot of it sits in data centres.
• The registry object is full of fossils: contacts listing Kommunedata and Aalborg addresses long predate the current company name and ownership.
