About this network

PIMA-COLLEGE is the network of Pima Community College, a multi-campus public community college serving Tucson and Pima County, Arizona.

What it's used for

• Campus networking across the college's district: classrooms, labs, libraries, student services and administrative systems.
• Announces a single /22 (about 1k IPv4 addresses).

Notable

• Institutional address space, not consumer or hosting space. Community colleges that run their own AS usually do it to multihome between a state research network and a commercial carrier.
• ARIN records date the ASN registration to 2005, so this is a reissued number rather than an original early-internet allocation.

Interesting

• Pima is one of the larger community colleges in the United States by enrolment, which is why it warrants its own AS at all — most two-year colleges simply sit behind a district or state network.
