About this network

SU-NET-AS is the network of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Bulgaria's oldest and largest university, operated by its University Computing Centre.

What it's used for

• Campus networking for faculties, laboratories, libraries and student facilities across the university's Sofia sites.
• Academic and research connectivity, including peering with other networks in Sofia.

Notable

• Institutional address space: hosts behind it are university systems, staff and student machines and research equipment rather than paying subscribers.
• The RIPE record offers non-commercial private interconnects to other networks in Sofia — an academic-network posture, exchanging traffic locally rather than selling transit.

Interesting

• Abuse and technical contacts both route to a 123@ mailbox at the University Computing Centre, a small piece of long-lived Bulgarian academic-network history preserved in the registry.
