About this network

ICONZ-AS — the network of ICONZ, a long-running New Zealand internet service provider and hosting company based in Auckland.

What it's used for

• Business internet connectivity, colocation, cloud, and managed IT services.
• Web and email hosting for New Zealand customers.

Notable

• ICONZ (the Internet Company of New Zealand) was founded in 1992 and was one of the first providers to sell internet access to New Zealand consumers.
• The company later merged with the Singapore-based Webvisions business, operated as ICONZ-Webvisions, and reverted to the ICONZ name for its New Zealand arm in 2015.

Interesting

• The business has drifted over its lifetime from a consumer dial-up pioneer to a managed-services and hosting provider, so its address space today looks far more like infrastructure than like an eyeball network.
