About this network

HKPOLYU-HK is the campus network of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), one of Hong Kong's publicly funded research universities, based in Hung Hom.

What it's used for

• Campus and research connectivity: faculty and student access, university services, and research computing across PolyU's campus.

Notable

• An institutional network rather than a commercial one. The address space serves the university itself, so traffic from it reads as academic rather than residential.
• The allocation is large for the number of people on campus, a hallmark of early academic address assignments made before addresses were scarce.
