About this network

ERX-HKBUNET is the campus network of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), a publicly funded university in Kowloon Tong.

What it's used for

• Campus connectivity for HKBU: teaching and research computing, student and staff access, and the university's public-facing services.

Notable

• An academic network, not a commercial ISP: the address space serves the university's own campus rather than paying subscribers.
• The ERX- prefix on the handle marks this as an Early Registration Transfer record, one of the pre-RIR registrations later moved into APNIC's database. The AS number itself sits in an ARIN-era block below 4608.
