AS3369 — MCI-ASN

AS3369 announces 4 IPv4 prefixes covering 49,920 addresses and 2 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

One of Verizon Business's legacy MCI autonomous systems (MCI-ASN), used to originate a slice of the address space Verizon inherited when it acquired MCI in 2006.

What it's used for

• Announcing Verizon Business network and customer blocks, including ranges whose registry records still carry old UUNET names.

Notable

• Carrier address space rather than a single organisation's network: the prefixes behind it are allocated out to Verizon Business services and customers, so addresses here are typically business or infrastructure rather than eyeball.
• Verizon runs a whole family of MCI-ASN numbers in this range — see AS3371, AS3372, AS3373 and AS3374 — all registered together in 1994 and all still held under the same organisation.
