AS16507 — DELWEBBCORP

AS16507 announces 1 IPv4 prefixes covering 1,024 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

The autonomous system is named after one homebuilder, the blocks after a second, and the registrant is a third.

What it's used for

• A homebuilder's network. Three IPv4 prefixes announced from the United States, no IPv6, one thousand and twenty-four addresses, through three observed BGP neighbours.

Notable

• The AS handle is the holder's name run together with its corporate suffix, no separators.
• All three blocks are registered to a different company: the group that owns the brand today, named with its own suffix and a comma.
• Every block carries the same netname, and that netname is a third brand again, hyphenated into two words. It matches neither the holder nor the registrant.
• The blocks are contiguous and halving, so the three could have been one announcement and were not.
• Nine addresses were queried for reverse DNS and none returned a name.

Interesting

• Three names for one business across three fields is the ordinary residue of acquisition. The autonomous system keeps the name it was requested under, the blocks keep the name they were assigned under, and only the registrant is updated, because that is the field with legal consequences.
• Anyone trying to attribute this network by name gets a different answer from each field and no way to reconcile them from inside the record. The relationship between the three brands lives in corporate filings, not in the registry.
• A thousand addresses and no reverse names is a company that builds houses rather than services. The network is a back office with a routing table.
