AS16373 — MOEVE

AS16373 announces 1 IPv4 prefixes covering 256 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

Five letters in the holder, five in the handle, five in the netname, and not one other word anywhere.

What it's used for

• A company network. A single IPv4 prefix announced from Spain, no IPv6, two hundred and fifty-six addresses, through one observed BGP neighbour.

Notable

• The holder field is the brand followed by its legal form. The AS handle is the brand alone. The netname is the brand alone. Nothing in the record adds a country code, a date, a numeral or a second word.
• The block lists two entries: the company under its legal form, and an abuse role in the registry's own shorthand.
• The prefix is the smallest size that can be routed on its own, and it is the whole holding.
• One observed neighbour carries all of it.
• Three addresses were queried for reverse DNS and none returned a name.
• The block sits in a range allocated long before netnames carried dates, which is why this one does not.

Interesting

• A record this bare is hard to research and easy to maintain. There is no predecessor brand to explain, no acquired block to reconcile, and no second convention to date the entries against.
• The whole visible network is one block behind one upstream with no reverse names. That is a company that wanted its own addresses so its own routing would not depend on a provider's, and wanted nothing else from the arrangement.
