AS15865 announces 2 IPv4 prefixes covering 512 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

An investment firm announcing another region's address space from the United Kingdom, on two blocks and nothing else.

What it's used for

• An investment manager's network. Two IPv4 /24s announced from the United Kingdom, no IPv6, five hundred and twelve addresses, across two observed BGP neighbours.

Notable

• Both blocks come from a range issued through a registry that serves a different part of the world from the one the holder and the announcement sit in.
• The registrant is an associated partnership rather than the company named in the routing record, and the second contact is that name with two words for an organisation administrator.
• The holder's legal form is written inside parentheses at the end of its name.
• The netname is the brand run together with a contraction of the word for management, with no hyphen, no country code and no date.
• The routing archive first saw this number three years after the numbers issued around it.
• Six addresses were queried for reverse DNS and none returned a name.

Interesting

• Five hundred and twelve addresses is a whole firm's internet presence, and for an investment manager that is the point. What matters is the private circuits to brokers and exchanges, which never appear in a routing table.
• Addresses follow the office that first asked for them, not the office that uses them. A block issued in one region and announced in another usually means the network grew outward from a headquarters and nobody renumbered.
