AS14300 announces 1 IPv4 prefixes covering 512 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

A mortgage lender whose entire footprint is borrowed from one carrier.

What it's used for

• A residential mortgage lender's network. 512 addresses in a single IPv4 prefix, with two observed BGP neighbours and no IPv6 announced.

Notable

• The whole footprint is 38.94.226.0/23, carrying the netname COGENT-A and registered to a carrier.
• The company appears nowhere in the block registration.
• The AS handle is NAF-SNAP7, initials followed by a word and a number that match nothing else here.
• Three addresses were queried for reverse DNS and none returned a name.

Interesting

• The netname is the same generic carrier label seen on dozens of records in this range. It says which provider issued the space and nothing about who uses it, so the AS record is the only place this lender is named at all.
• Announcing borrowed space from two neighbours is a reasonable arrangement, and it means the addresses stay with the carrier if the relationship ends. For a lender that publishes application portals, changing addresses is a project rather than a task.
• Mortgage origination means income documents, credit files and identity records moving between borrowers, brokers and underwriters, all of which makes the lack of published detail here sensible.
• The suffix in the handle looks like an internal project or product name, which is how a number obtained for one purpose ends up carrying a label nobody outside recognises.
