AS13449 — -Reserved AS-

AS13449 announces 0 IPv4 prefixes covering 0 addresses and 1 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

Thirty-two IPv6 prefixes, zero IPv4 addresses, and one upstream.

What it's used for

• A network announcing IPv6 only. Thirty-two IPv6 prefixes, no IPv4 in inventory, and one observed BGP neighbour.

Notable

• Every announced prefix begins 2605:7a80:, split into pieces from /47 up to /44.
• The AS handle recorded in inventory reads -Reserved AS- while the registry names a holder.
• The registry lookup for the prefixes failed, so nothing is known about their registration here.
• With no IPv4 addresses, no addresses were queried for reverse DNS.

Interesting

• An autonomous system with no IPv4 at all is unusual enough to be worth stopping on. Almost every network keeps some, because much of the internet still cannot reach it otherwise. Announcing only IPv6 means either the service exists for IPv6 reasons or the IPv4 side lives under a different number.
• One neighbour and thirty-two prefixes is a lot of routing-table entries for a single connection. Splitting one range into that many pieces gains nothing when there is only one path out, so the fragments are for something happening inside the network rather than outside it.
• A holder name in the registry against a placeholder handle in inventory means the inventory dataset is the stale one, not the registry.
