AS13134 — Instituto de Informatica, IP Ministerio da Solidariedade e Seguranca Social

AS13134 announces 1 IPv4 prefixes covering 256 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

The longest AS handle in this range: a ministry's complete name, comma included.

What it's used for

• The IT institute of Portugal's social security ministry. 256 addresses in one IPv4 prefix, one observed BGP neighbour, and no IPv6 announced.

Notable

• The AS handle is the institute's full name followed by the ministry's, punctuation and all.
• The single prefix is 195.245.197.0/24, netname II-MSSS-NET.
• One of three sampled addresses returned a name: chat.seg-social.pt.
• One observed BGP neighbour.

Interesting

• The handle is the opposite failure to the entries in this range that shrank to a street or a city: where those dropped everything identifying, this kept everything, and both are unusable as short labels. The field has no length discipline, so it collects whatever was pasted into it.
• The netname abbreviates the same two organisations to six characters. One record, two answers to the question of how to name a government department, neither derived from the other.
• A chat service on a social security domain, on the one address that answered. Public bodies put citizen-facing services on small blocks like this and keep the case systems somewhere unrouted; the /24 is the shop window.
