AS13034 — AS-PAGESJAUNES

AS13034 announces 2 IPv4 prefixes covering 768 addresses and 0 IPv6 prefixes.

About this network

A printed phone directory's brand, preserved in an AS handle long after the company renamed.

What it's used for

• The network of a French directory and digital-marketing company. 768 addresses across two IPv4 prefixes, one observed BGP neighbour, and no IPv6 announced.

Notable

• The AS handle is AS-PAGESJAUNES, while the holder and both netnames are SOLOCAL.
• Address space is administered through Orange's local internet registry.
• First seen in the routing archive in January 2001.
• Six addresses were sampled and none answered.

Interesting

• The handle names a printed directory; the registrant names the company that directory became. Rebrands update the fields somebody has to edit and leave the ones nobody looks at, so the handle is a fossil of what the business used to sell. Anyone searching the registry for the current brand finds the blocks; anyone searching for the AS finds the old one.
• The blocks sit under an incumbent carrier's registry membership rather than the holder's own. That is provider-aggregatable space: the company announces it from its own AS number but does not hold the membership behind it, so leaving the carrier would mean renumbering.
• One neighbour for 768 addresses. This is a publisher's corporate network, and an AS number here buys the ability to be multihomed later far more than it reflects anything about today.
