About this network
EQUITY-TRUST-COMPANY — the RIPEstat holder string is simply ETC — is the network of Equity Trust Company, the Ohio-chartered custodian for self-directed IRAs headquartered at 1 Equity Way in Westlake, Ohio. RIS sees a single IPv4 prefix, 148.59.182.0/24 (256 addresses), no IPv6, and 2 observed BGP neighbours.
What it's used for
Corporate connectivity for a financial custodian, and nothing else. One /24, registered to ETC itself under the netblock handle ET-305, announced to two upstreams: that is a company that wanted provider-independent address space and a second path to the internet, and got an AS number to hold both. The pair of neighbours is the whole story — a transit customer, not a transit provider. Nothing in the inventory is registered to a third party, and there is no scattered multi-RIR space, so none of the leased-address or brokered-block patterns apply here.
Notable
Watch the handle. ETC is exactly the kind of three-letter abbreviation that invites a wrong guess, and a firm called "Equity Trust" sounds like it might be an investment manager or a bank. It is neither: it is a custodian, the entity that holds title to assets inside retirement accounts — real estate, private equity, precious metals, crypto — on behalf of hundreds of thousands of account holders. The public-facing surface is a client portal and its supporting systems, which is why 256 addresses is enough. The mismatch between the size of the network and the size of the balance sheet under custody is a reminder that address count measures nothing about an organisation except its addressing.
